All manuscripts must be submitted via email to the Editor in Chief, Prof L Engelbrecht

  • Announcement of submission hiatus

Starting from 29 September 2023 until 5 February 2024, we regret to inform you that we will not be accepting or processing new article submissions. This decision comes as we embark on a transition to a new management system, policy revisions, and a website renovation. Please note that the publication of journal editions will continue uninterrupted, and all articles currently in the processing system will be managed as usual. During this hiatus period, if you submit a new article, you will not receive feedback. However, if your article is already in the processing cycle, you can expect the usual journal processing responses. The updated journal policies will be available on our website by 5 February 2024. We kindly ask you to review the revised submission requirements on the website after this date and submit new articles once the hiatus concludes. We want to assure you that Social Work/Maatskaplike Werk will maintain its status as one of the top 50 social work journals worldwide. Furthermore, we are committed to enhancing our overall management and processes to make them even more user-friendly in the future. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
