Abstract

Prestasiebeoordeling is ‟n onvermydelike deel van die werksopset aangesien personeelbesluite voortdurend geneem moet word en die assessering van werksverrigting daarmee gepaardgaan. Kleynhans, Markham, Meyer, Van Aswegen en Pilbeam (2006:143) verduidelik dat die inligting wat verkry word vanuit prestasiebeoordeling waardevol vir feitlik elke menslike-hulpbronarea is. Dit sluit in menslikehulpbronplanning, -opleiding en -ontwikkeling binne die organisasie, loopbaanbeplanning en -ontwikkeling van die werker, en assessering van werkers se potensiaal. Ivancevich en Matteson (2002:186) beskou die evaluering van, en terugvoering oor, werkers se werksverrigting as ‟n deurlopende proses wat noodsaaklik is vir die effektiewe uitvoering van hulle werksfunksies.
